It's the Holidays & I'm Grounded from Habbo

It's the school holidays now and I'm grounded. Of all the things, my papa and mama decided to punish me by disallowing me from going to Habbo. It's already bad enough that there's no school and I won't be seeing my friends for a whole month. I can even meet my 'other' friends at Habbo! I hope I'm not grounded from Habbo for life. :-(

I am a Junior Member of the SPCA

Mama gave me a surprise when I got back home today. There, on my bed was a nice white envelope with my name and our home address imprinted on it. I glanced the top of the envelope and saw the word "Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals". Yes! This must be it! I tore open the envelope and took out the contents. There were a letter of welcome from the nice people at SPCA, a nice special Junior SPCA member sticker badge and my membership card. My papa said that now I can go around helping the animals they are in trouble. I am a Junior Member of the SPCA. :-)

Fun at Sungei Buloh

Papa & me decided to head to Sungei Buloh this morning. It wasn't difficult to find the place. We just followed the many nice sign boards that guided us to the park's car park. It was a sunny morning when we got out of the car. With a small bottle of mineral water we made our way to the nature's trail. When we were at the trail's entrance, I was a bit uneasy when I saw the "Watch It" for crocodiles sign board.

Papa said probably crocodiles may be around since Sungei Buloh is a wetland. But he pointed out that the sign was probably meant to warn us not to scare the crocodiles. Eerr.. I don't think I can scare a crocodile.. can you? Anyway we saw animals while walking through the trail. There were gigantic spiders with its even gigantic web. There were king fishers, lots of small sparrows and I think I saw two eagles gliding in circles above the water looking for fish.

We rested at the reservoir while I drank the water. The reservoir and the nearby battle site park had nice playgrounds. Too bad they were closed for maintenance. Papa said maybe we could come again next month and hope that the playgrounds would be available then. On our way back to the car park, we decided to cross the road to the nearby agro garden and fish farms. The agro garden was also under maintenance but the fish farm was better.

There I fed the turtles and arapaimas, the giant (and I really meant GIANT) fish. We bought two frozen fish and I thew them to the arapaimas. The fish splashed and gulped the frozen fish greedily. Wow! Papa almost dropped his camera phone because of the splashes. Since it was only noon, and papa had just had his nice cup of Suzuki coffee, we decided to explore the Sungei Buloh area more by car. We visited some more fish farms, a bonsai farm and also a fish trading market where their sell life fish, eels and froggies for you to take home and cook. Just like a market, they would also help you cut your fish and put them in plastic bags. Oh yes, we also found the Hay Goat Farm along the way and decided to drop in. I had fun time feeding the goats.

The goats were very friendly and they were always trying to eat papa's pants. One even signal to us with its front leg wanting more grass. I also touched and stroked them. They were so nice and cute. We wanted to buy some goat's milk to bring home for Mama, but there were none left. Papa said we should come again next time in the morning after they milked the goats.

Another Most Tiring Day of My Life

We are going to the Chingay 2008. My Papa got a pair of tickets from his friend and thought it'll be a great idea to spend the Saturday evening watching floats. I wasn't keen at first as I thought playing the Pokemon was a much better thing to do on Saturdays. But then my Papa was so exited about it that I thought why not. We drove to Papa's office as it was near the Chingay at Padang and parked the car. We were late but thought who would be early anyway? Anyway to cut it short, we were late. We didn't get our seats because they have already closed the gates. I tried to climb up a fence and a window of the nearby building but the policeman warned me to come down when he saw me. Luckily I saw a Caucasian couple leaving they space near the barricade and quickly took up the space. It was fun watching the floats, but the standing was killing me. We decided to leave the float and go to the fun fair nearby instead. There I had a lot of fun playing the blow-up playground. It was a gigantic Jurassic Dinosour playground. I met some other kids and we became friends. When my time was up, Papa and me went to the MacDonald and had our supper. Oh yes, there were fireworks, but I don't really like fireworks because they are so noisy.

The Most Tiring Day of My Life

Today, my papa and me went to MacRitchie reservoir. We are having the Chinese New Year holiday and thought it was a good idea to cross the HSBC Tree Top Walk bridge. You see, my papa, with all his greatness is a scary cat of heights. You should see him when we were up the DHL balloon and Kent Ridge park Canopy Walk. His knees went wobbly and he will freeze up! Nevertheless, he always told me that we should always face what we fear, at least once ;-P

It was a long journey to the HSBC Tree Top Walk. Of course I do not understand what 4.4km meant then and my papa said it's not that far. But it was far... very far ... so far that I thought I will never ever reach it. It was a funny journey. I am afraid of the creepy crawlies of the jungle and there were many butterflies around. I don't really like butterflies, they're bugs and I don't like bugs. One on them even buzzed close to my ears while we were walking! Eeeeeuuu!!!

At last we reached HSBC Tree Top Walk. It was a beautiful loooong bridge. I love it and went across quickly. Ops, looked like my papa decided to freeze up again. I had to walk slowly, so as not to swing the bridge. My papa don't like swinging bridge, especially one that is very high up. We made it across the bridge. It was a beautiful sight and I wished my papa would had passed me his camera phone if not for his trembling hands. :-P

Success! Objective met and now we shall celebrate with Milo Dinosaur or Godzilla. But first we had to walk back to our car. The directional sign board said MacRitchie Carpark 5.5km. I wonder what that means?
